Electricity consumption in Ukraine is showing an upward trend amid cloudy weather. A shortage persists during peak hours, and Ukrainians are urged not to turn on powerful appliances at the same time between 4:00 and 9:00 pm. As a result of the bad weather, 5 settlements in two regions are without electricity. This was reported by NPC "Ukrenergo", UNN writes.
Consumption
"Consumption is showing an upward trend. Today, November 6, as of 9:30 am, its level was 4.4% higher than on Tuesday, November 5. The reason is cloudier weather in some regions of Ukraine compared to the previous day and, accordingly, lower efficiency of household solar power plants," the statement said.
As noted, "during the hours of maximum consumption in the morning and evening, the power system remains under capacity." "Please do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time from 7:00 to 11:00 in the morning and from 16:00 to 21:00 in the evening," Ukrenergo urged.
"The power system is still balanced, but damage to the infrastructure makes it difficult to operate. We urge consumers to use electricity rationally, especially in the evening from 17:00 to 22:00. This helps to maintain the system in a stable state," the Ministry of Energy added.
Bad weather
As a result of stormy wind gusts and damage to power company networks, 5 settlements in Sumy and Cherkasy regions remain without power. Power engineers continue emergency repair work on the lines.
Import
It will be supplied throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. The total volume is 1,683 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 182 MW in some hours.
Situation at ZNPP
"The water level in the cooling pond is 14.18 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.
