Volodymyr Artyukh says that in the most dangerous settlements of Sumy region, which are about 5, 3 to 10 people need to be evacuated in each, and another 300 people remain in the 8-kilometer zone.
"We started evacuating the 5-kilometer zone in the summer of 2023. First of all, we evacuated children from there. I think that in the next day or two we will evacuate them from there as well," said Artyukh.
He also added that today, in addition to the police, the State Emergency Service and administrative structures, the Armed Forces are actively assisting in evacuation areas. They are involved in operations to evacuate people from the most shelled areas.
