During an interview with Latin American media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was asked about negotiations with Russian dictator Putin. He replied that it is impossible to negotiate with someone who is not interested in peace, UNN reports .

"First of all, he does not need peace. When we want to solve a problem, we must understand that all parties need it," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said and recalled Putin's statements not to attack Ukraine after the occupation of Crimea and part of Donbas in 2014. This proves once again that all the dictator's words are lies.

"He is not interested in an independent Ukraine and this is a fact. He needs Ukraine as part of the Russian Federation," the president said and summarized: "What should he (Putin - ed.) compromise on? I cannot trade people. And with whom? With a person whose word is worthless. These are not guarantees."

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he could not sit down at the negotiating table for several reasons, and the most important of them was Putin's unwillingness to end the war. "He doesn't want any dialog, he doesn't want to stop the war. For him today, stopping the war is just two words on the phone. Two words to say to his troops," the president emphasized.

Ukraine, in turn, cannot give up its territories, because, first, there are many Ukrainians in the occupied territories whose rights and freedoms, according to the Constitution, the Ukrainian government must protect. Secondly, after all the false statements made by the Russian dictator, his words and guarantees are not trustworthy.
