On Saturday night in Kyiv, in a coffee shop, men attacked a girl who made a remark to them because she spoke Russian.
This was reported by the victim herself, Kateryna Kosetska, on Facebook , UNN reports.

On Saturday evening, I stopped by the Sense bookstore and coffee shop for a cup of coffee to enjoy it and the company of conscious people. It did not go as expected. At a neighboring table, people started speaking Russian, which surprised me, because the only polite request written on the door of this wonderful place was not to use Russian. After a while, I reacted and asked them to follow the rules of the place and not to speak the language of the occupier
According to her, the men reacted aggressively, started mocking and expressing contempt for the Ukrainian language.
“Learn languages, you're such a patriot,” the men replied.
Later, a man sitting closer to her first cursed the girl and then started threatening her boyfriend.
Just in case, I tried to record it on camera, but at the same moment the man suddenly grabbed my left hand, forcibly pulling the phone out of it. For about 20 seconds (it seemed like long minutes at the time), I helplessly tried to get my thing back from the athletic man, who was clearly enjoying the process, twisting my arm painfully. Apparently, he was additionally amused by the large audience and calls to call the police. And when I finally took the phone away and checked to see if it was damaged, he tried to take it away again. It seems that the man, who weighs about 100-120 kg, who painfully squeezed the arm of a 40 kg girl and took her phone away, is very proud to exercise his language rights
She noted that she had filed a complaint with the police, and the case was promised to begin on November 4. She also expressed her hope that the case “will not be closed.
“Police officers let the men go and did not take statements from the witnesses, although they were ready to give them,” she summarized.
The coffee shop added that encourages people to communicate and switch to Ukrainian and supports them along the way.
Unfortunately, the law does not allow us to ensure the absence of Russian in the space. However, we always emphasize that Ukrainians should speak Ukrainian, and everything Russian should be eliminated
Recall
The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill on the Ukrainian-language environment in schools. The document prohibits teachers and students from speaking Russian during breaks and in private on the territory of an educational institution.
