"Today, the Russian enemy targeted a police station in the center of Kharkiv with two missiles, killing a police officer and wounding 26 other police officers and four civilians," said Vygivskyi.
According to him, the deceased is police colonel Andriy Matvienko.
"I express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of our colleague, whose life was cut short while on duty. The same police service in frontline Kharkiv, which is associated with a risk to life every day," added the head of the National Police.
He wished a speedy recovery to all the wounded.
According to the head of the National Police, law enforcement officers are working at the scene, providing assistance at the site of the hit and documenting another war crime by Russians.
"The enemy will be responsible for every loss, every crime. The entire police family is doing everything necessary for this," he summarized.
