Ukrainian law enforcement officers have found and dismantled webcams that broadcast air defense operations during russia's latest air strike on Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of the SBU, UNN reports.

SBU officers found out that robotic online surveillance cameras were hacked by russian special services to spy on the Defense Forces in the capital.

According to SBU cyber experts, one of the devices was located on the balcony of an apartment building and was used by a local condominium association to monitor the adjacent territory.
However, as a result of hacking, the aggressor gained remote access to control this webcam. Having penetrated its settings, the russian special services changed the viewing angle and connected it to the YouTube streaming platform. In this way, the occupiers covertly recorded all visual information within the camera's range of operation.
Another surveillance device was blocked in a residential complex in Kyiv. Residents were using it to monitor the adjacent parking lot.
SBU cyber specialists established that the enemy remotely controlled this webcam to covertly record the surrounding area, including critical infrastructure facilities
According to the available information, the aggressor used these cameras to collect data to prepare and adjust strikes on Kyiv.

Based on all the exposed facts, comprehensive measures are being taken to neutralize new attempts by the enemy to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities through online cameras.
The SBU emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, SBU cyber specialists have blocked the operation of about 10 thousand IP cameras that the enemy could use to adjust rocket attacks on Ukraine.
The Security Service also reminds of the ban on filming and publishing video and photo materials about the activities of the Defense Forces and the consequences of enemy shelling.
The publication of such photos and videos on the Internet is considered to be an adjustment of hostile fire and is a crime punishable by law. The sanction of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for a prison term of up to 12 years for such a crime.
