Ukraine has launched a new phase of its LED light bulb exchange program, which allows pensioners to receive five LED light bulbs at Ukrposhta offices as part of efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce the load on the power grid.

On December 5, the next phase of the old light bulb exchange program was launched in Ukraine. Now, every pensioner in a Ukrposhta branch can receive five modern LED lamps at once. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, UNN reports.

We continue our energy efficiency policy. Today, the next phase of the program for the exchange of old lamps for LED lamps starts. From now on, every pensioner in an Ukrposhta branch can receive five modern LED lamps at once. In general, the program initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already demonstrated excellent results

Shmyhal said.

According to him, Ukrainians have received more than 21 million energy-efficient lamps, which has significantly reduced the load on the power system.

We also plan to expand our energy potential. These days, a government delegation is working in Dubai at the UN Climate Conference COP28. And Ukraine has already joined the declaration on tripling nuclear power capacity by 2050

Shmyhal said.

He noted that the development of Ukrainian nuclear energy is not only about our domestic needs, but also about helping Europe accelerate its green transition.
