All traffic lights will work in Brovary during possible power outages - Mayor Ihor Sapozhko

Brovary is purchasing equipment for an autonomous power supply for all traffic lights worth about UAH 2 million. Mayor Ihor Sapozhko said that this will ensure traffic safety during possible blackouts.

Equipment is being purchased in Brovary to provide all traffic light facilities in the community with an autonomous power supply. The estimated cost is about two million hryvnias. This was announced by the mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, in a commentary to UNN.

The mayor noted that equipment is being purchased to equip 25 more traffic lights in the community with similar alternative sources.

Uninterrupted operation of traffic lights means safety for passengers and drivers. We started with the busiest intersections and will gradually provide alternative power supply to all traffic lights in the community. We are currently purchasing equipment worth about two million hryvnias

- said Ihor Sapozhko.

The mayor reminded that the first traffic light facility was equipped with an autonomous power source back in December 2022. Back then, solar panels with batteries and an inverter were installed at one of the busiest intersections in the city: Kyivska - Vyacheslav Chornovil - Heroiv Ukrayiny streets. The cost of the work was about UAH 365 thousand.

In June and July this year, traffic lights at the intersections of Kyivska and Chornykh Zaporozhets, Kyivska and Yaroslav Mudryi, Kyivska and Symona Petliura, Kyivska and Heroiv Ukrainy, Kyivska and Taras Shevchenko streets were equipped with inverters and batteries. The estimated cost for each of these objects was about UAH 80 thousand
