Thanks to the cooperation between Odesa and Bremen, children of Ukrainian defenders have the opportunity to have a vacation in Germany. During a two-week trip, they get to know the culture of the city, visit the sights and meet the mayor.

For the second year in a row, children from Odesa region have a unique opportunity to vacation in the picturesque Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. The trips were made possible thanks to close cooperation between Odesa and Bremen under an agreement on interregional cooperation signed in 2023. This was written by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Oleh Kiper, reports UNN.

This year, the children of our heroic defenders went to Bremen, which allowed them to escape for two weeks and plunge into peaceful life. They discovered the culture and traditions of one of the most famous German cities, living there and enjoying a variety of leisure activities. During the trip, the children visited historic squares and majestic architectural monuments, feeling the breath of centuries. A special moment was the reception by the Mayor of Bremen Andreas Bovenschulte, who greeted the children and paid special attention to them. In addition, the children made new friends and actively studied German culture through games, entertainment and communication. Every day was full of new knowledge and exciting discoveries

- said the head of the RMA.

Kiper added that the trip was made possible by reliable partners.

“The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen supported the initiative and organized a rich leisure program. The German-Ukrainian cultural association Unity Centre UA took care of the entertainment for children, and the Europe Shelter program provided organizational support and logistics. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who made this unforgettable trip possible!” - added Kiper.
