Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will hold his first personal meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto since the Russian invasion

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told reporters on Monday before a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council that today, for the first time since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, he would personally meet with his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto, UNN reports.

I'm seeing Hungarian Foreign Minister today. This will be our first in person meeting since the beginning of large-scale invasion. And I think this very fact speaks for itself: that we continue dialog, we talk with Hungary. As I just said Ukraine changed its legislation on education and the use of languages of national minorities in the way Hungary wanted it to be changed. And this fact must be respected,

Kuleba said.

According to him, the European Commission's decision clearly stated that Ukraine should bring its legislation in line with the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

"And all key Venice Commission recommendations were implemented into Ukrainian legislation. I think that the game should be played fairly. If we are told to do something and we do that, that must be registered as a result and taking and serve as a basis for making further decissions," the Foreign Minister said.

Regarding President Zelenskyy's meeting in Argentina with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Kuleba said that he "was not present at this short talk." "And I can't share the atmosphere," but indeed there was an exchange of comments among them, Kuleba said.
