In Spain, the former president of the federation was suspended from football for three years after the governing body of world football, FIFA, had already disqualified him

The former president of the Spanish football federation has been banned from working in Spanish sports for three years after kissing a football player on the lips without her consent at the Women's World Cup final, UNN reports citing AP.

Luis Rubiales has already been forced to resign from his position, although he initially tried to stay on despite the global scandal over his kiss of striker Jenny Hermoso at the awards ceremony after the August 20 final in Australia.

Friday's decision by Spain's legal commission, which oversees sports in the country, came after world soccer's governing body FIFA had already suspended Rubiales for three years.

A Spanish judge is hearing a case in which Hermoso insists she was sexually assaulted by Rubiales for kissing him and then being forced to publicly support him.

He denies any wrongdoing.
