Ukraine's Energy Minister Galushchenko discussed energy cooperation and sector reforms with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Needham, with a special focus on the nuclear industry and equipment manufacturing.
Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko met with the US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Robert Needham. The parties discussed continued cooperation in the nuclear industry, the creation of distributed generation and the implementation of joint projects localization of power equipment production to strengthen the resilience of the power system. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, UNN reports.

Also during the meeting also discussed effective cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of State, USAID, and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine to strengthen Ukraine's energy security.
In this context, the parties discussed the continuation of cooperation in the nuclear industry and the implementation of joint projects for the localization of power equipment production in Ukraine.
In addition, Mr. Galushchenko outlined plans to reform Ukraine's energy sector. In particular, the implementation of the provisions of the Law on Prevention of Abuse in Wholesale Energy Markets, aimed at implementing the EU Regulation (REMIT), the implementation of the 4th Energy Package, as well as corporate reform.
During the meeting, the American side during the meeting, the US side demonstrated its readiness to continue its comprehensive support for Ukraine in in strengthening energy security.
