German citizen Dieter S. is charged with terrorism abroad and preparation for violent acts that threaten the security of the state. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, from 2014 to 2015, he participated in the activities of the armed groups of the "DPR", where, according to the investigation, he was part of a detachment that resorted to violence against civilians.
Dieter S. was arrested in Bavaria in the spring of 2024, but initially on a different charge. The investigation revealed that Dieter S., together with his associate Alexander Y., carried out espionage activities in favor of a terrorist country, including surveillance of US military bases in Germany and planning sabotage on transport routes used to deliver military aid to Ukraine. According to the indictment, the purpose of these actions was to disrupt the supply of aid to Ukraine to counter russian aggression.
The suspect also confessed to contacts with a person connected to russian intelligence and passed him information about targets for potential sabotage in Germany. The Prosecutor General's Office reported that the trial on charges of espionage in favor of russia is nearing completion.
