The experts' report indicates that the growth in demand for coal on a global scale will be almost 1.5%. Most fossil fuels are consumed in Asia. China increased consumption by almost 5%, and India - by 8% compared to 2022.
However, experts point out that in some countries, coal use has decreased by about 20%, as a significant share of global CO2 emissions is associated with the production of electricity and heat through coal combustion.
Experts predict that global demand for coal, oil and gas will peak in the coming years, after which it will begin to decline due to "a significant expansion of renewable energy capacity."
