Heating season in Ukraine: what is the situation in the regions

The heating season officially started in Ukraine on November 1. Most regions have already been connected to heating, while some regions are waiting for the temperature to drop or are completing repairs.

The heating season has started in Ukraine, and the vast majority of houses will be connected to the heating system today, November 1, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported on Friday, UNN writes.

"All regions of Ukraine have completed preparations for the heating season. Social infrastructure facilities have been heated since mid-October, and the vast majority of houses will be connected to the heating system today, on November 1. This year, heat is being supplied to homes in accordance with the individual schedule of each region," the Ministry said on social media.

As indicated, this was affected by the thermal regime, as well as the amount of repair and restoration work.

The situation in the regions and in Kyiv

In Vinnytsia region, residential buildings and social infrastructure facilities have already been connected to heating. Necessary repairs have been carried out at the heating facilities and fuel has been procured.

In Volyn region, the heating season has already begun in Lutsk, Kovel, Volodymyr, and the Novovolynsk community. 775 boiler houses have been put into operation, and more than 90% of social facilities have been supplied with heat.

On October 16, social institutions in the Dnipro oblast started to be connected to heating. Boiler houses are already operating in Kryvyi Rih and Pokrov, and 8% of boiler houses are currently connected to the heating system. Dnipropetrovska oblast is technically ready for the heating season, with heating networks and equipment inspected and repairs completed.

In Donetsk region, the heating season in most communities began on November 1. So far, 10 boiler houses have been launched, heating 35 residential buildings and social infrastructure facilities.

The heating season has also started in Zhytomyr Region. Currently, 99% of boiler houses are operating, and 98% of residential buildings are connected to centralized heating. Work on connecting residential buildings to heating in Zhytomyr is being completed, and regulation of intra-House heating systems in apartment buildings continues.

So far, 56 communities Zakarpattia have decided to start heating. All other communities will start heating on November 1. Housing and public sector facilities are fully prepared for the heating season.

Preparations for the heating season have been completed in Zaporizhzhia region. One boiler house and 4.9 km of heating networks have been repaired. The heating season has already begun for social facilities. Residential buildings are expected to have heat on November 1.

Public Utilities Ivano-Frankivsk region have completed planned repairs for the start of the heating season. Communities have already decided to start the heating season, but some of them will start supplying heat after November 1. 774 boiler houses out of 815 are already operating in the region.

In Kyiv region, standard preparation of housing stock, water supply and Sewerage, and Road and bridge facilities has been completed. Reconstruction of three boiler houses in the city of Irpen is being completed. Repairs were carried out to boiler houses, heating networks, water and sewer networks and stations, sewage treatment plants. Reserves of wood fuel and coal have been created. The heating season has started in all 69 territorial communities of the region. Social infrastructure institutions are the first to connect to heat supply: kindergartens, schools, hospitals.

From October 30, the heating season for the housing stock will begin in Kyiv. This decision was made by the city, taking into account the further significant cold snap. For the full deployment of the centralized Heat Supply System in Kiev - one of the largest in Europe, according to the technology, it takes about 7 days.

Despite the fact that Kirovohrad region is fully prepared for the heating season, the heating season will begin here if the temperature drops below +8 degrees for three days based on decisions of local governments.

"The heating season has also started in most of the temporary accommodation facilities and shelters created for IDPs in Luhansk region. On November 1, heat supply started in Krasnohrad, Kharkiv region, and Kyiv. All 37 Coordination Centers for IDPs in Luhansk region have created conditions to operate as heating stations in case of power outages or deteriorating weather conditions. We also have generators and stocks of water and food," the statement said.

68 territorial communities of the Lviv region decided to start the heating season. Most of them already supply heat to educational and healthcare institutions. Heating of residential buildings has started in the Stryi community. Also already with heating and Lviv.

In Mykolaiv region, 22 boiler houses and almost 9 km of heating networks have been repaired. The heating season will start in the first decade of November due to warm weather. However, heat supply to residential buildings and social infrastructure has already begun in Pivdenoukrainsk. In Pervomaisk and Voznesensk districts, heating for social infrastructure is starting.

Odesa region is fully prepared for the heating season: 1315 boiler houses and almost 2000 km of heating networks have been prepared. Heat supply will start taking into account the climate conditions in the region. Local authorities will start making final decisions after November 1. Today, heat supply has started in Artsyzka community, while Yuzhnenska community will start preparing its power grids for heat supply only on November 4.

Poltava region is fully prepared for the heating season. Heat is already being supplied to healthcare facilities, schools and kindergartens. Since October 22, heat has been supplied to residential buildings in the Hadiach community. Today, heat supply has started in Kobelyatska and Myrhorodska communities.

Rivne region has prepared 975 boiler houses and 84 central heating points for Operation. The heating season has started in 60 communities, and 4 more are being prepared for Heat Supply.

Sumy region has started the heating season. 95 boiler houses are already operating, heating residential buildings and social infrastructure. 91% of power supply facilities damaged by attacks and shelling have been restored.

The heating season has started in 47 communities of Ternopil region. A total of 903 boiler houses have started operating, including 62 communal ones that provide district heating services. The region's demand for firewood, pellets and coal has been almost completely covered.

In Kharkiv region, as a result of attacks on the power equipment of CHPs and TPPs, work is underway to provide heat and power to residents of Kharkiv, Slobozhanske, Pisochyn, Solonitsevka, and Podvorky. UAH 2.5 billion has been allocated from the state budget reserve fund to implement these works.

The heating season will start in Kherson region after the average daily air temperature remains below +8 C for three days. 44 out of 46 boiler houses are ready to supply heat, and two modular boiler houses are being installed. In case of emergencies, utilities are equipped with generators.

All municipal infrastructure facilities of the Khmelnitsky region are 100% ready for winter. 42 boiler houses were repaired, 11.1 km of heating networks were replaced. Since October 14, Heat Supply to social facilities has been started. The heating period has started in all localities of the region, except Belogorye, Poninka and Slavuta.

Cherkasy Region carried out all planned works, the heating season began. Currently, 59 boiler houses are operating. From October 23-24, heat began to be supplied to the main share of residential buildings. Social facilities of the region are connected to the heating system at the request of the heads of institutions.

Chernivtsi region has also started the heating season. Currently, 662 boiler houses are operating, and 582 residential buildings, educational and medical institutions have been supplied with heat.

In Chernihiv region, there are 465 boiler houses that heat residential buildings, educational and healthcare institutions.In addition, the regions have developed algorithms for dealing with emergencies in the energy system. These include the installation of cogeneration units, the provision of generators, and the development of emergency response plans.
