A 37-year-old BMW driver was detained in Uzhhorod for dangerous driving, assaulting a police officer over a comment, and faces up to 5 years in prison for assault, as well as administrative charges for traffic violations.

In Uzhhorod, a BMW driver was detained for dangerously maneuvering on the road and attacking a police officer because of a remark. He faces up to 5 years in prison for assaulting a law enforcement officer. In addition, a report of administrative violation of traffic rules will be drawn up against the man.  This was reported by the Uzhhorod District Police Department, UNN writes.

An attacker who inflicted bodily harm on a police officer was detained in Uzhhorod. ... Investigative actions are currently underway. In accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine, he will be placed in a temporary detention center. Investigators classified such criminal actions of the detainee under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to 5 years in prison. In addition, administrative materials will be drawn up against him for violating the traffic rules.

According to law enforcement officials, today in Uzhhorod, police officers saw a driver in a gray BMW making sharp maneuvers on a street in the city center, near a pedestrian zone.

To protect the people around them, the police stopped the car. The car was driven by a 37-year-old man. The driver of the BMW reacted aggressively to the lawful demands of law enforcement officers and even hit a police officer.

According to local media, after the man started waving his fists, the passenger of the gray BMW took over the wheel and fled the scene. The police are looking for the car.
