Iran warns of a "stronger and more decisive" response in the event of an Israeli attack after recent Iranian strikes.

Iran has warned that its response will be "stronger and more decisive" if Israel takes action in response to the latest strikes by the Iranian army. This was reported by CNN with reference to Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Irani, UNN reports

"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to exercise its inalienable right to self-defense whenever necessary," the ambassador said in a statement.

He also added that "if the Israeli regime carries out any military aggression again, Iran's response will undoubtedly be stronger and more decisive."

Citing self-defense against Israel's repeated military aggressions, Iranian officials said the strikes were in response to the April 1 Israeli attack on diplomatic facilities in Damascus that Iran believes were located there.

Iran claims that the attack violated international law and resulted in the deaths of seven Iranian military advisors, including key commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The statement also criticized the UN Security Council for "failing to maintain international peace" by allowing Israel to "violate" established international norms and "escalate" regional tensions.

Meanwhile, an Israeli official told The Times of Israel that no decision was made this morning during the situation assessment regarding Israel's response to the Iranian attack.

A potential response will be discussed at a meeting of the military cabinet scheduled for 15:00 today.
