A drunken 46-year-old Kharkiv resident cut off the head of a stray dog for barking at his dog. The animal survived.

In Kharkiv, a 46-year-old man was notified of suspicion of cruelty to a stray dog. The drunken man cut the animal's head. He explained his actions by saying that the stray dog was constantly barking at his dog.  UNN reports this with reference to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. 

Under the procedural supervision of Novobavarskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv, a 46-year-old man was served a notice of suspicion of cruelty to a stray dog committed intentionally, for hooligan motives, with particular cruelty, which resulted in bodily harm and mutilation of the animal (Part 3 Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

According to the investigation, on the afternoon of April 26, 2024, near a pharmacy on Kitaienka Street in Kharkiv, the suspect, while intoxicated, stabbed a stray dog in the head.

The animal started bleeding and whimpering, and the man, according to the prosecutor's office, left the crime scene.

Passers-by saw the dog and took him to the hospital. According to the prosecutor's office, the dog survived. 

According to the prosecutor's office, the man explained his actions by saying that the stray dog was a nuisance because it was constantly barking at his dog.
