Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba calls for continued military assistance to Ukraine, countering defeatist sentiment despite a difficult counteroffensive. He emphasizes unity at NATO meetings as opposed to public skepticism and warns against letting false narratives of war fatigue determine policy.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on international partners to continue military support for Ukraine despite the defeatist mood amid the summer counteroffensive. This is stated in Kuleba's article for the magazine Foreign Affairs, reports UNN.

He admitted that the recent counteroffensive did not lead to the immediate liberation of the occupied lands. At the same time, the minister emphasized that pessimism about Ukraine's future is not justified and that we should not allow defeatist sentiments to influence our political decisions in the future.

At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba also argued that there is a discrepancy between public discourse and discussions behind closed doors.
He also spoke about his trip to the NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels.
"What struck me the most was the discrepancy between the mood inside the room and the mood outside. On the sidelines, journalists were discussing that the war had reached a "deadlock" and that "war fatigue" would undermine support before the question of why Ukraine was not offering to exchange territory for peace was raised," the minister said.
