Ministry of Finance: 97% of local budgets approved in Ukraine

As of December 29, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported that 97% of local budgets had been approved, calling for the speeding up of their final approval to ensure the uninterrupted provision of public services.

"As of December 29, 2023, the Ministry of Finance has information on the approval of 1545 budgets, which is 97% of their total number (1597)," the statement said.
In particular, it is reportedly approved:
- 24 regional budgets and the budget of the city of Kyiv;
- 117 district budgets (2 were not approved);
- 1391 budgets of territorial communities (47 were not approved);
- 12 district budgets in cities (3 were not approved).
"As of today, the local budgets of Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernivtsi regions have been approved in full," the Ministry said.
They also emphasized that "in order to ensure the full functioning of public sector institutions and the continuous provision of services to consumers, local governments need to take measures to speed up the process of approving local budgets and submitting information on their approval to the Ministry of Finance using the LOGICA IAS.
