The mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, said that during the occupation of the city, more than 1,500 residents were tortured by the occupiers. He said this on Hromadske Radio, UNN reports.
Currently, according to him, about 10 thousand people are left in the city.
"Now there are about 10 thousand people stay because the occupiers put pressure on them both moral and physical. Many simply cannot stand it, and despite the fact that the fact that the journey now takes about 5,000 kilometers and about a week, people are still leaving," said the mayor.
According to his estimates up to 80% of residents have left.
According to Orlov, there are two main torture chambers: the premises of the former Security Service and a police station.
"The occupiers place such public torture place such public torture chambers where they allow even allow friends or relatives to come and bring medicines, if necessary. And if you to take the total number, there are about ten of them. Some of them are located on the territory of the industrial zone of the nuclear and thermal power plant.
