Odesa region leads Ukraine's regions in terms of spring crops sown

Odesa region is the leader among Ukrainian regions in terms of spring crops, with 43,000 hectares planted, including wheat, barley, peas and oats.

Ukraine planted 128.1 thou hectares of grain and pulses. Most of the crops were sown in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Fourteen regions have started sowing spring crops. Farmers in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions sowed the most crops.

Odesa region: 43 thousand hectares in total, including 1 thousand hectares of wheat, 23.3 thousand hectares of barley, 17.7 thousand hectares of peas and 1 thousand hectares of oats;

Mykolaiv region: 1.1 thou hectares of wheat, 17.9 thou hectares of barley, 12.6 thou hectares of peas and 0.5 thou hectares of oats;

It is noted that as of March 14, 128.1 thousand hectares of grain and legumes were sown in Ukraine.

Of these, 12.9  thou hectares of wheat, 69.6  thou hectares of barley,  41.5  thou hectares of peas and 3.7 thou hectares of oats.

Despite the ongoing war with Russia, Ukrainian farmers have sown 68.3 thousand hectares of spring grains and pulses in 12 regions for the 2024 harvest.

Earlier , UNN reported that as of March 7, 68 thousand hectares were sown in Ukraine. Of these, 4.3 thousand hectares of wheat, 38.9  thousand hectares of barley,  23.3 thousand hectares of peas and 1.5 thousand hectares of oats.
