In the Khmelnytsky region, an official was detained who was looking for people to beat up the headman of a neighboring village for a $2,500,000 reward.

In Khmelnytsky region, law enforcement officers detained an official who ordered the beating of a village elder from a neighboring region. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police of Khmelnytsky region, UNN reports.

Law enforcement officers received operational information that a 49-year-old official of one of the local governments had been looking for a person who could injure  the village headman from a neighboring region, with whom he had a long-standing hostile relationship.

The department said that law enforcement officers faked a contract crime to detain the attacker. 

The customer was detained immediately after transferring the principal amount of USD 2 thousand to the "performer" (he received a USD 500 deposit in advance). At present, police investigators under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office have already served the detainee with a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 121 (Preparation to inflict intentional grievous bodily harm, committed on order) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine

For the period of investigation, the court took the defendant into custody with the possibility of bail.

It is noted that the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Investigation Department of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast National Police with the operational support of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Oblast National Police.
