The bulk of the fortifications are scheduled to be completed by 2028, which involves the creation of significant defense infrastructure along the borders with the terrorist country and Belarus.
Polish authorities say that the project aims to increase national security and provide additional protection for the EU's eastern borders.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland Cezary Tomczyk spoke about the start of work. He also said that the Baltic states, as well as British and American military contingents, have joined the project. The cooperation includes both financial and technical support from international partners.
