The Ukrainian government has decided to extend the preferential electricity price of UAH 2.64 per kilowatt for households until May 31 and the preferential gas price of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter for households until the end of the summer.

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced that the government has decided to extend the preferential electricity price for households - at UAH 2.64 per kilowatt - for another month, UNN reports.

Today, the government decides to extend the preferential electricity price for households. It will be 2 hryvnia 64 kopecks per kilowatt. We are leaving this price unchanged. The provision on the imposition of special obligations on electricity market participants will be extended until May 31

As the representative of the government in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, clarified, the government made changes to its resolution No. 483. "For the purpose of social protection of the population against the increase in prices (tariffs) for electricity for household consumers in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine, the current fixed price for electricity for household consumers, set at the level of 2.64 UAH/kWh including VAT, has been extended until 31 May 2024," Melnychuk said in Telegram.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that this month we approved a resolution that preserves the preferential gas price for heat and hot water suppliers to households until the end of the summer. Also this week, the state-owned Naftogaz extended the preferential gas price for households. It will remain at UAH 7.96 per cubic meter.
