Prosecutor's Office: сontractor in Kyiv tried to misappropriate UAH 500 thousand intended for repair of school shelters

A contractor who embezzled UAH 500,000 from funds intended for the repair of school shelters will be tried in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district. He faces up to 8 years in prison for overstating the cost of repairs.
500 thousand hryvnias allocated from the budget for the repair of shelters for a school in Holosiivskyi district was appropriated by a contractor. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports .
Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv sent to court an indictment against the head of a contractor organization on charges of misappropriation of budget funds for the overhaul of shelters and forgery (part 4 of Article 191, part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in July 2022, officials of the Holosiivskyi DSA officials, in order to gain access to budget funds, organized a contractor for the to access budget funds, organized a tender for a contractor company controlled by them to win a repair of simple shelters and protective structures at a school in Holosiivskyi district.
Upon completion of the work, the contractor overestimated the amount of for repairs by over UAH 500 thousand.
The perpetrators face up to eight years in prison with the deprivation of the right to to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
