russia refuses to participate in a proposed peace conference on Ukraine in Switzerland, citing Switzerland's pro-Ukrainian stance and support for anti-russian sanctions.

Russia will not take part in the peace conference on Ukraine in Switzerland even if it receives an official invitation. This was stated in a commentary  by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, UNN reports, citing TASS.

"russia does not intend to take part in such a conference, even if it is officially invited," she said when asked about the possibility of russia's participation in the event, which is allegedly being prepared in Switzerland.

She claims that the conference in Switzerland on Ukraine is a continuation of the meetings in the Copenhagen format, which allegedly discredited themselves from the beginning.

"Switzerland can hardly serve as a platform for various peacekeeping efforts, as this presupposes a neutral status, which Bern has lost. It takes an openly pro-Ukrainian stance, votes in favor of anti-Russian resolutions, considers the seizure of our frozen assets, joins illegal anti-Russian sanctions, and accepts meetings according to the Zelensky formula," Zakharova said.
