Russians shelled one of the thermal power plants in the east, two CHPPs stopped supplying electricity - Ukrenergo

Russian military once again shelled a thermal power plant in the east, damaging equipment. Three power units at thermal power plants went into emergency repair, and two thermal power plants in the southern and western regions stopped supplying electricity. This was reported by Ukrenergo on Thursday, UNN writes. 

In the east, one of the thermal power plants was shelled again, and equipment was damaged. Due to the damage caused by shelling and bad weather, two thermal power plants in the southern and western regions of Ukraine have stopped supplying electricity

In addition, three more power units at TPPs in different regions went into emergency repairs.  And solar power plants produce almost no electricity due to cloudy weather. That is why Ukrenergo called for economical consumption of electricity. 

However, no consumption limits have been introduced, no blackout schedules have been introduced and are not expected, the company said. 

Consumption 

Yesterday, December 13, the daily maximum was 1.5% lower than on December 12.

But today, consumption in the morning is already 1.9% higher than yesterday, December 13. 

This creates an additional burden on the power system, Ukrenergo noted. 

Exports/Imports 

No exports today.

Electricity is imported during daytime hours from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 3,429 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 621 MW in some hours. Starting December 1, the technical possibility of importing electricity from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova is 1700 MW.

According to the State Emergency Service, 225 cities, towns and villages in five regions of Ukraine were left without electricity supply amid deteriorating weather conditions .
