He emphasized that "this should never have happened, and it is a slap in the face the Polish Sejm that something like this, because of the irresponsible, stupid, unreasonable behavior of one of its deputies, representatives of the nation, happened today in this building."
Golovnya noted that "there will be no tolerance for racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and any other deviations while I am Speaker of the Sejm."
MP Witold Zembaczynski made a motion to adjourn the in connection with Grzegorz Braun's extinguishing of the Hanukkah menorah.
"There is no place for anti-Semitic actions here. A ceremony with religious background was interrupted. This is unacceptable," said MP Zembachinsky.
