Starting December 11, Slovak carriers will block only trucks from Ukraine - State Customs Service

Slovak carriers will block the movement of trucks from Ukraine to Slovakia starting at 15:00 on December 11, without disrupting the movement of personal vehicles. Travelers are advised to use alternative border crossing points

Slovak carriers are going to block exclusively the traffic of trucks leaving Ukraine for Slovakia starting from 3 p.m. on December 11, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reported on Monday, UNN reported.

This morning, during a working meeting, the Slovak side informed officials of the Transcarpathian customs office that after the announcement of the continuation of the protest action by Slovak carriers in front of the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhhorod checkpoint, on December 11, starting at 15:00, truck traffic from Ukraine would be blocked. As for the entry into the customs territory of Ukraine, the protesters will not yet interfere with the movement of large vehicles from Slovakia,

the State Customs Service reported on Telegram.

The agency noted that the passenger direction will continue to operate as usual.

And they urged carriers to take this information into account and choose the nearest checkpoints to cross the border, such as Chop-Záhony on the border with Hungary or Dyakove-Halmeu with Romania.

They also reported on the state of the queues of trucks in front of these checkpoints as of the morning of December 11:

checkpoint "Uzhhorod - Vysne Nemecke":

checkpoint "Chop (Tisa) - Zahony":

queues in the cargo direction:

exit - 38 (e-queue - 3184 vehicles);

entry - 760.

Dyakove - Halmeu checkpoint:

exit - 30 (e-queue - 888 tons);

entry - 160.

As a reminder,

the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) reportedthat starting December 11, it will block truck traffic at the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhhorod border crossing, without affecting private vehicles.
