The doctor and his accomplice were accused of organizing illegal border crossings and issuing fake medical certificates for $3,000 to help people evade military mobilization in Sumy region.

According to the investigation, a local resident of Sumy planned to make money by organizing a system of evasion from mobilization for those who wanted to leave the country. He entered into an agreement with a doctor at the Regional Clinical Specialized Hospital, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Sumy Regional Council, to issue medical certificates of unfitness for military service.
The suspects demanded $3,000 for a package of documents for one person.
As a result, under the procedural supervision of the Sumy District Prosecutor's Office, a doctor of the Regional Clinical Specialized Hospital, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Sumy Regional Council, and his accomplice were charged with organizing and facilitating illegal crossing of the Ukrainian border, as well as obtaining illegal benefits.
The court has now imposed a pre-trial restraint on the doctor in the form of detention with the possibility of bail, and his accomplice is under house arrest.
