Google has updated its Bard chatbot with the Gemini AI model, introducing three versions: Ultra, Pro, and Nano to improve performance on different devices. Gemini Pro will be launched first, with more features and languages to follow.

The Bard chatbot has received the biggest update ever thanks to Google's new artificial intelligence model Gemini. This is stated in a press release from Google, reports UNN

Details

The company announced that Gemini is available in three versions - Ultra, Pro, and Nano. They will allow working with the model on any device - from mobile devices to data centers.

The rollout of Gemini versions for Bard will be done in stages. First, Bard will be updated with a specially customized version of Gemini Pro, which will initially support text prompts. In the coming months, the functionality will be extended (support for images or other modalities will be added).

The Bard version of Gemini Pro will initially be available in English in more than 170 countries around the world. More supported languages will be added over time.

Google claims that Gemini Pro has been validated in a series of industry tests. And in 6 out of 8 of them, it outperformed GPT-3.5.

Already in 2024  the Bard Advanced testing program will be launched. It will provide users with access to the improved Gemini Ultra AI model. Thanks to Gemini Ultra, the company claims that Bard chatbot will not only understand but also be able to interact with different types of information, including text, images, audio, video, and gain multimodal reasoning capabilities.

In addition, it is promised that Gemini Ultra will be able to understand, explain and generate high-quality code in popular programming languages.
