Ukrainian drivers at the Krakowiec-Korczowa border crossing tried to negotiate with Polish carriers to allow seven trucks per hour instead of one, but Polish police prevented them from approaching.

Ukrainian drivers who are blocked on the border with Poland, namely at the Krakowiec-Korczowa checkpoint, wanted to hold talks with Polish carriers, but the Polish police blocked their way and did not let them in. The Ukrainians wanted to negotiate that seven trucks per hour would be allowed, not just one. This was reported to a journalist of UNN by Viktor Kozak, coordinator of the newly created headquarters for assisting Ukrainian drivers in Poland.

The situation at the Krakowiec-Korczowa checkpoint is very tense, because the protesters let one or two cars through per hour, not seven, as they declared they would. They are not letting humanitarian aid through out of turn, that is, they are not fulfilling their declared duties

, Kozak said.

He also commented on the attempt of Ukrainian drivers at the Krakivets-Korchova checkpoint to go to the Polish protesters in order to negotiate.

"Our drivers wanted to negotiate, but the police arrived and did not allow them to approach the (Polish - ed.) protesters. The Ukrainian drivers wanted to negotiate to allow seven trucks per hour, as it used to be. Now they let in one truck per hour," Kozak said.

Addendum

As of the morning, about 2.1 thousand trucks were queuing in Poland towards the border with Ukraine amid the blockade of Polish carriers.

As a reminder, on November 6, Polish carriers began blocking three checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Later, they expanded the blockade to one more. The EU Council will consider the blockade of checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
