Ukraine and the United Kingdom have signed an agreement on a 2 billion pound loan to finance defense needs. The funds will be used to purchase modern weapons and equipment in accordance with NATO standards.

The United Kingdom and Ukraine have signed an agreement providing for a loan of 2 billion pounds to finance Ukraine's defense needs. This was stated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, UNN reports.

On behalf of the governments of Ukraine and the United Kingdom, the bilateral document was signed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Defense Secretary John Healey. 

The purpose of the agreement is to provide financial support for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, including the purchase of modern weapons, military equipment and other defense means in accordance with NATO standards. 

The agency adds that the loan is granted for 15 years with the possibility of extension and at a favorable interest rate.

Under the terms of the framework agreement, the loan will be used for large-scale projects to develop Ukraine's defense capabilities, which will reduce the burden on the state budget and allow us to obtain the necessary weapons to protect our country in the short term, primarily in the field of air defense
