Finland's foreign minister said that the West continues to underestimate Putin's power and the situation could escalate, calling for restrictions on leaders like Putin instead of hoping to freeze the conflict in Ukraine.

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said that Western countries continue to underestimate Vladimir Putin, who has become even stronger after the presidential election in Russia. This is reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk, according to UNN.

She also criticized the statement by the leader of the SPD parliamentary faction, Rolf Mützenich, about a possible freeze on the war in Ukraine.

If we in the West are trying to freeze the war or contain it and hope that this will lead to its end, we are simply wrong. You just have to set limits for leaders like Putin. You have to stop them, because otherwise they will not stop,

- the minister emphasized.

She also praised Germany's support for Ukraine, expressing hope that "Germany will continue to play this greater role, not only in terms of supporting Ukraine, but also in order to further expand the common deterrence and common defense.
