A 39-year-old man died of burns sustained while trying to extinguish a dry grass fire in his own yard in the village of Lisky, Olevsk community, Korosten district, Zhytomyr region.

In the village of Lisky, Olevsk community, Korosten district, a 39-year-old man suffered burns and died while extinguishing dry grass around his own yard. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.

On March 8, at 13:38, the Rescue Service "101" received a report of a dry vegetation fire in the village of Chyzhivka, Zvyagel district. At the scene, the rescuers found that dry vegetation was burning over an area of up to 2 hectares. There was a threat of fire spreading to the village and the forest plantation. The fire was extinguished within an hour and a half,

In total, firefighters in the region extinguished 9 fires in natural ecosystems, covering about 9 hectares of territory. Unfortunately, one of the fires was not without tragic consequences.

At about 12 o'clock, the Rescue Service "101" received a report from the police that in the village of Lisky, Olevsk community, Korosten district, a 39-year-old man had suffered burns and died while extinguishing a dry grass fire around his yard. The SES units were not involved in extinguishing the fire,

Rescuers urge citizens to strictly follow fire safety rules when cleaning their household plots, not to burn dead wood and not to make fires in windy weather. In the event of any emergencies or situations, immediately contact the Rescue Service by calling 101.
