An American Osprey military aircraft crashed near Yakushima Island in Japan. Witnesses reported that the plane's left engine caught fire while descending.

On Wednesday, November 29, an American Osprey military aircraft crashed off the coast of Japan . It was reported by Reutersand UNN.

Details 

Previously, there were eight servicemen on board the American aircraft. It is noted that the Japanese Coast Guard has sent patrol boats and aircraft to Yakushima Island, where the helicopter crashed.

Local fishermen say that three people were found in the area in the surrounding waters, but their condition is unknown. A spokesman for the prefectural government said the crash occurred near the island's airport, where another Osprey had successfully landed the same day.

Witnesses of the plane crash said that the left engine was on fire when it went down.
