Zelenskyy met with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Gant to discuss expanding sanctions against Russia to prevent their circumvention, and thanked him for a significant half-billion pound defense aid package.
During a meeting with British Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Gant, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the expansion of restrictive measures against Russia to prevent the Kremlin from circumventing sanctions, the head of state said in Telegram, UNN reports.
"I met with Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt. Thank you for the largest package of defense assistance from the UK worth half a billion pounds. We paid special attention to the sanctions policy," the President wrote.
Zelensky emphasized that it is important to expand restrictive measures against Russia and make it impossible to circumvent sanctions.
The President also thanked the United Kingdom for supporting Ukraine since the first days of the Russian invasion. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine highly values the partnership between the two countries.
