Owners of alternative energy sources worth up to UAH 150 thousand will be able to keep their subsidies. The Ministry of Social Policy has been instructed to develop a corresponding draft decision, as well as a mechanism for maintaining the amount of electricity subsidies in case of power outages, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Tuesday in Telegram following a government meeting, UNN reports.

“We understand that the winter will be difficult, so we are encouraging citizens to be energy resilient. In particular, to install alternative sources of power and generation: solar panels, wind turbines, and energy storage. At the same time, people should not lose their right to housing subsidies. Today, we instruct the Ministry of Social Policy to develop and submit a relevant draft decision to the government. It will be based on a simple and understandable rule - if the cost of installed energy equipment does not exceed UAH 150 thousand, the family will retain the subsidy,” Shmyhal wrote.
According to him, “the Ministry of Social Policy should also develop a mechanism whereby the amount of subsidies for electricity will not be reduced even in the event of power outages.
