In Donetsk region, law enforcement officers detained a Russian informant who was reconnoitering the positions of the Defense Forces in the frontline territories of the region. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, UNN reports.

First of all, the enemy was interested in the places of the largest concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kramatorsk. He personally toured the city and observed the movement of the Defense Forces.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a 30-year-old local resident who was remotely recruited by the Russian special service earlier this year as a supporter of the Kremlin's ideology.
SBU investigators have now served the enemy informant with a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement, relocation or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine committed under martial law). He is in custody. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The attacker faces up to 12 years in prison

During a search of the detainee's residence, a cell phone with evidence of his correspondence with Russian military intelligence was seized.
SBU investigators found that the detainee used optical sights for weapons to collect data.
He also "hunted" for temporary bases of Ukrainian troops. If they were found, the attacker would do additional reconnaissance and send the aggressor the exact geolocation.
