Under the direction of the Munich prosecutor's office, about 280 emergency services are currently involved in searches of facilities in eight federal states of Germany. According to dpa, 20 people are accused of creating a criminal organization.
In October, several federal states already conducted numerous searches of the apartments of so-called "Reich citizens" who were attributed to the alleged terrorist group United Patriots. A total of five suspects were arrested.

"Reich citizens" are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic of Germany and its democratic structures. In 2022, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution reported about 23,000 people across Germany who support this ideology. This figure was 2000 more than in 2021.
Almost a year ago, Germany saw the largest raids against "Reich citizens" who were planning a coup d'etat.
