The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense Ihor Voronchenko was fired, and the former commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yuriy Sodol, resigned from the Armed Forces through the military commission. This was stated by MP Mariana Bezuhla, reports UNN.
"General Sodol resigned from the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the HQC," wrote Bezugla.
She also said that Defense Minister Umerov, at the request of Chief Commander Syrsky, dismissed Chief Inspector of the Defense Ministry Igor Voronchenko and initiated the renaming of the Main Inspectorate to the General Inspectorate to allegedly launch a cascade of formal rewriting of documents, dismissal of those who disagree and paralyzing the work of the single controlling body.
In addition, the MP noted that Voronchenko had passed the preliminary medical examination.
"The 60-year-old general was declared fit and enlisted in the service, that is, ‘in a vacuum,’" Bezuhla added.

In the summer, Major Bohdan Krotevych, chief of staff of the Azov Brigade, accused the senior general of incompetence, blaming him for "thousands" of casualties among the Ukrainian military. Krotevych accused Sodol of a series of mistakes, starting with his command of the defense of Mariupol in 2022.
