According to preliminary data, the strikes hit a historic district in the center of Kharkiv, where residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged.
One of the guided aerial munitions hit a 12-storey residential building in Saltivka, causing large-scale destruction: several floors were destroyed and a fire started in the building.
There are people under the rubble and an intensive search and rescue operation is underway. Rescuers, firefighters and medics are working in extremely difficult conditions to reach the victims.
