The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing new samples of women's uniforms, including demi-season and winter uniforms, and introducing elements of inclusiveness, UNN reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk, field tests of demi-seasonal uniforms for women are currently underway. And the first samples of winter uniforms have been prepared for research trials.
"The introduction of women's uniforms is important, among other things, because the size chart for men's uniforms is not relevant for women," Melnyk said.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized the need to provide women's body armor that would meet the protection requirements while reducing the weight of armor plates.
In addition, as part of the implementation of Ukraine's National Barrier-Free Strategy, the Ministry of Defense will reconstruct some of its buildings by the end of 2024. In particular, elevators, ramps and other equipment will be built and put into operation to improve accessibility for people with limited mobility.
