The Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of a Russian GRU "mole" in the ranks of the TCR in Volyn region, UNN reports.

"The SBU Military Counterintelligence with the assistance of the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was preparing a new series of Russian air strikes in Volyn. It was a 30-year-old serviceman who served in the security unit of the local military center. According to the case file, he was remotely recruited by a career officer of Russian military intelligence (better known as GRU)," the SBU said.
According to the materials of the proceedings, the defendant tried to establish and transfer to the aggressor the locations of the Armed Forces, the Security Service and the National Police. "To accomplish this task, the agent traveled around the area in a company car under the guise of business trips and recorded the location of military facilities," the SBU said.
Also, according to the SBU, he tried to detect radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out enemy attacks "bypassing Ukrainian air defense.
"The agent sent the information to his Russian supervisor via an anonymous chat in a messenger," the SBU said.
The SBU military counterintelligence reportedly exposed the Russian agent, documented his crimes and detained him. At the same time, additional measures were taken to secure the locations of the Defense Forces.
The agent was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
