Voters in seven U.S. states supported protecting abortion rights, including Montana. Three states - Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota - rejected a constitutional right to abortion.

It is reported that the last state to pass such a measure by Wednesday morning was Montana. This is how Montana voters decided to protect abortion rights in their state's constitution. In three other states - Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota - voters rejected measures that would have created a constitutional right to abortion. The topic of protecting abortion rights is on the ballot in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York and South Dakota. Thirteen states currently ban abortion at all stages of pregnancy, with some exceptions. Another four ban abortion in most cases after about six weeks of pregnancy - before women often realize they are pregnant.
