The mayor of Kyiv said that it would take 7 days to connect heat to all buildings due to the scale of the system. Most schools, kindergartens and hospitals have already been connected.

Kyiv continues to connect residential buildings to heat, which began yesterday, October 30. According to the mayor, “the connection of all buildings to the heating system will take up to 7 days.” Multi-storey buildings are being connected to the heating system gradually, as the capital “has one of the largest district heating systems in Europe.

About 2.7 thousand kilometers of heating networks, a combined heat and power plant, 160 boiler houses involved in the heating process - given the above, it is “technologically impossible” to turn on the heating in a shorter time, as the load can lead to emergency damage.
Among other things, Klitschko reminded that the heating season for social institutions began on October 14. Currently, 92% (418) of schools, 88% (472) of kindergartens, and 79% (277) of healthcare facilities are connected to heating.
