Bus driver in Kyiv is served suspicion notice for fatal accident

In Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz bus caused a three-car accident that killed one person. Four victims, including the bus driver, were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
A bus driver has been notified of suspicion over a bus accident in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, where one person died and four were hospitalized, the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office said on Tuesday, UNN reports.
A 39-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz bus was served a notice of suspicion of violation of traffic safety rules, which caused serious injuries and death of the victim (Part 2 Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

The accident occurred on November 4 at about 7 a.m. in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
According to the investigation, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz bus, moving at a high rate of speed along Akademika Zabolotnoho Street, collided with a Mitsubishi L200, which hit a Niva car after the collision. Both cars stopped on the roadway to repair one of the cars that had broken down while driving. After the collision with the vehicles, the bus drove off the road in an uncontrollable state.
As a result of the accident, one of the men standing near the Mitsubishi L200 died at the scene, two other people with moderate injuries and the driver of the Mitsubishi L200 with serious injuries were hospitalized. The bus driver also sustained polytrauma
The bus driver has been served a notice of suspicion and a request for a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 8 years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 3 years.
