The construction of 1 GW of gas-fired power generation capacity in Ukraine is postponed due to delays in equipment and project preparation. An advisor to the Prime Minister confirmed the postponement of the implementation to next year.

The construction of up to 1 GW of gas generation capacity, which was planned for this year, will be implemented with a conditional delay due to the preparation of projects and lack of equipment. This was stated by the Prime Minister's Advisor on Energy Natalia Boyko during the Kyiv International Economic Forum, UNN reports.

Many projects have been moved to the next year's schedule, precisely because the equipment is arriving. The gigawatt that has been talked about so much, which was such an ambitious statement, will be implemented with a conditional delay, which is absolutely understandable, due to the preparation of projects. At the same time, we have a lot of issued capacities for private business

- Boyko said.
