397 Ukrainian athletes and coaches were killed and more than 500 sports facilities were destroyed as a result of the Russian invasion.
З the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 397 athletes and coaches have been killed and coaches, and 500 sports facilities have been destroyed. This was announced by the head of the of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Matvey Bidnyi in an interview with France Presse, reports UNN.

Bidnyi emphasized that the Russian invasion has caused suffering to all Ukrainians, caused great damage to the sports community and potential Olympians.
"У we have confirmation that 397 athletes and coaches have been killed, including athletes who could have participated in the Olympics, such as shooter Yegor Kigitov or boxer Maxim Galinichev," said Poor.
Also according to him, the loss of sports infrastructure exceeded 500 facilities worth totaling more than $300 million.
"They can be restored, but human lives cannot be restored," Poor added.
